I specialize in talks and workshops about science writing, narrative craft, and the nuts and bolts building a sustainable freelance writing career.

I have moderated panels at the LA Times Festival of Books, where I was also a judge of the 2022 science book category. I have organized panels on ethical storytelling, interviewing for narrative stories, and negotiating contracts for the National Association of Science Writers. I’ve trained scientists on speaking to the press and helped academics find the story in their research. I’ve also given talks at comedy shows and storytelling nights about science and journalism.
